- However, in the case of the an electric vehicle fire a number of dangerous substances can be released of which Hydrogen Fluoride is the most dangerous as when mixing with moisture of water will produce Hydrofluoric acid, which in addition to being a highly corrosive liquid, hydrofluoric acid is also a powerful contact poison. Because of the ability of hydrofluoric acid to penetrate tissue, poisoning can occur readily through exposure of skin or eyes, or when inhaled or swallowed. The treatment of these burns include cleansing of the skin or wound with water and the use of calcium gluconate gel to neutralize hydrofluoric acid. We include in this kit:
